My Cat Eye Blazes

 

It has always been this way: I only have
one true calling.

I am dust.
I am a cave.

Do you see the drudge?
Do you breathe in the murky water?

The weight
of my severing is a flare

The wink
of my cat eye blazes,

& then, finally, you see
the split of my body’s sun.
