She says she loves
this view, these trees,
our trees.  Seventy foot
tall white pines sketch
green blurred brushes
against a denim sky,
flanked by an orange
pool of sun.  Stars
dimple pond’s blue.
Ours to watch, side
by side, only a chill
separates us
and we enter
our dark unlit home.
