Bessie Senette

A CREATION STORY

Before the beginning of anything
Light and darkness occupied space
Dual and equal forces
Nothing happened for billions of years
Darkness had no voice
Until light collided with it
Then everything happened at once
Explosive sound
Shook the cosmos
Particles of darkness
Vibrated outside itself
Light reflected dark matter
Then many more light years or dark moons
If you prefer
Something interesting began to happen
One of the dark particles began to evolve
It formed oceans and land masses
Light fueled the evolution
Out of curiosity of course
Darkness stayed out of it
It is never curious about anything.
Preferring to hang around until something unexpected happens
The warmth of light began to encourage the growth of many
Peculiar things like amoebas and bacteria
Light became drunk with power
Accelerating creation to do the silliest things
Four legged animals with long necks
Big fish with hammer heads
Vegetables with thorns
Colorful birds with huge beaks
Tiny things like gnats
But the most absurd creation of all
Had only two legs
Darkness suddenly got curious
