APOCALYPSE AT THE TURNING TO THE SECOND MILLENIUM

   – after Tyarah Yambo’s sketch “Face of Apocalypse Nun”

The sun again is black
but not from moon. It spat
an angel and singed her wings.
She falls like sin. The sun
appears
her aura then halo. The snow
is thick today and the sky
is green. She pluffs in snow.
Her sun turns to the west.
She turns
to me. Her wings shed
and burrow in the snow.
My fire melts. All
is water.
It’s dark again. Cold
water turns to ice.
If only she had eyes
to see in me the end
freeze.
