STARLIGHT
Something about it feels
like forgiveness,
the photons setting
out across the trackless
dark a thousand years ago
to meet your eyes
here, on this
lonely walk when you
happen to zip your coat
and look up.
Ken Hines has worked as an advertising writer and a college English teacher, two jobs that require getting through to people who aren’t always interested in what you have to say. His poems are in AIOTB, Psaltery & Lyre, Burningwood Journal and other lit mags. You’ll find his essays in The Millions, Philosophy Now and Barrelhouse. A recent Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee, Ken lives in Virginia with his wife, the painter Fran Hines.
