I blast music because 
You tell me to lower the volume 
I speed on the freeway because 
You warn me to go slow 

I’m sorry for complaining about
Homework assignments
Boys
That one time in third grade you missed my Show and Tell 

I roll my eyes every time
You knock before coming in 
You pack me fruit instead of chips 

I’m sorry that I’m never on your side 
Even though you are always on mine
I’m sorry I interrupt you to talk about my day
Even though I never ask about yours 

And most importantly, 
I’m sorry that I don’t say sorry enough
