Alecia Lewis

COVEN OF ONE

Dating, marriage
Romance, true love
Happily, ever after are
Wonderful for some.
But not me.

My odyssey is different,
A more individuated voyage,
With peaceful serene detachment.

No romantic entanglements,
Seductive flirtations, or passionate affairs
To provide complications and distractions
From my adventures and quests.

The knight in shining armor,
Prince Charming,
Mr. Right
Are nonexistent.

There is no love of my life.

I am not meant to be anyone’s
Girlfriend,
Mistress,
Wife.

Not a
Bachelorette.
Old Maid.
Spinster.
Crone.

But a
Coven of One.
