MockingHeart Friends! Happy December!
Here we are, almost at the end of 2024–and what a year it’s been. Somehow, we’ve made it through both the tough parts and the happy moments of this most tumultuous turning of the calendar, and I get to write to you again with bracing news: submissions are now open for MHR 10.1, the Winter 2025 issue of MockingHeart Review! You can submit from today until December 31st. And here toward the end of the year, following one’s compass can help us make it all the way through.
In that spirit, our Winter 2025 theme is Justice, that ideal of moral rectitude, rightness, and righteousness that we all envision and hold high. Your poems and artwork for this issue might deal with these ideas directly, or represent them abstractly–or even grapple with their counterpart, injustice, which (just like justice) can take on many meanings. When you’re ready, meditate and create around this concept, and then send your poetry and/or artwork our way! We look forward to experiencing it.
We hope you’re staying healthy, happy, and inspired. Keep on keepin’ on, friends–and as always, thank you for the excellent work you do in the world.
