Artist Statement:
I have discovered that, as a highly visual person, collage suits me best as a means of expression. With my work, I hope to give people a new vision of the world. If they can be led to appreciate its beauty, fragility, and sometimes its oddness, I will have accomplished my mission. 

Martha Garner is a collage artist who has been working in the field for 12 years. Her chief interest is in portraying nature and environmental issues, since she is a Master Naturalist. Martha strongly believes that awareness of the beauty and complexity of the natural world can lead to a better appreciation of life on earth. Her main methods of creating art are through torn paper collages of painted papers and surrealistic collages created with printed images gathered from many sources. Martha’s driving force is making people cognizant of how wonderful and fragile the natural world is.
