TWO FOURTEEN
Two/fourteen again:
day in memory never fading,
day of romance,
day of love evolving into
day of now…
Times past into time’s present flow,
drifting, we surrendered long ago
to uncertainty, although
with hindsight from this
vantage we,
aware of synchronicity,
know only that we do not know…
and yet…
Love’s presents are and
Love’s presence is
sufficient for eternity!
Thomas Senette is a retired civil servant who lives in Lafayette, Louisiana with Bessie, his wife of many years. “Two/fourteen” refers to Valentine’s Day, their wedding anniversary. Thomas believes that marriage is an extraordinary example of cooperation — two persons working together toward the same end, mutual joy!
